Suspected Cultists Kill Another Student In Rivers State
LAGOS AUGUST 1ST (NEWSRANGERS)-An Engineering student of the Rivers State University was killed on Wednesday morning by suspected cultists along Ada George axis of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
The student, who was said to be on his way to school, was found dead on the road with some machete cuts on his body.
The murder of the student is coming less than 48 hours after a final year student of RSU, Prince Barisua, was shot and killed near a hostel in the university.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the latest attack, adding that the victim’s body was found along Ada George Road in Port Harcourt.
Omoni also confirmed that the lifeless body of the victim had machete injuries, even as he said that investigation had begun with a view to apprehending those behind the killing.
“The student was found dead along Ada George road with machete cuts all over his body. We learnt that he was a student of the Rivers State University, but we are yet to ascertain that.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command said it had arrested two persons in connection with the cult clash that led to the murder of Prince Barisua on the campus of the Rivers State University.
The State PPRO, Nnamdi Omoni, who identified the suspects as Elechi Chibuzor and Nnamdi Chibundu, explained that they were apprehended on Tuesday and were assisting the police with vital information.
