Hilda Baci, Seun Kuti, Tony Elumelu, others Lead In African Social Chart
LAGOS MAY 18TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Nigerian chef, Hilda Bassey Effiong, better known as Hilda Baci, made it to number 1 on this week’s Africa Social Chart released by Top Chart Africa.
The Social Charts uses Social Media and Google analytics to determine the most talked about personalities in Africa for the week.
The May 8-15, 2023 data shows Hilda Baci as the most talked about personality in Africa.
She became an Internet sensation after a 100 hour kitchen stint in an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
At number 2 is Nigerian Grammy-nominated afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti who was arrested after he was captured slapping a police officer in a viral video.
Another Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage occupies the number 3 spot after she trended on social media for performing at the historical coronation ceremony of King Charles III.
Others in the top 10 are Nigerian billionaire, Tony Elumelu, Ghanaian music star, Black Sherif, Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, and Big Brother Titans ex-housemates, Thabang Mazibuko, Khosi Twala.
The duo of Thuli Phongolo and Joel Embiid doubted in the top 10 this week.
