Court Halts APC Guber Primaries In Edo State

LAGOS JUNE 8TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scheduled to take in Edo state has suffered a set back as a Federal High Court in Benin, Edo state on Monday granted an order restraining the party and its national chairman from conducting the exercise.

The court ordered the party and Adams Oshiomhole not to go ahead with the primary election in the state pending the determination of the suit on Thursday, June 11, 2020.

The ruling comes not long after the credentials of all the aspirants who have bought, completed and submitted the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms where displayed at party Secretariats in Abuja and in Edo state.

The aspirants include Governor Godwin Obaseki and five others namely: Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Hon. Dr. Pius Odubu, Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi, Hon. Osaro Obazee and Hon. Matthew Aigbuhuenze Iduoriyekemwen.
