Reporter’s Diary On Kumuyi’s Deeper Life Church 2025 Easter Retreat

LAGOS MAY 2ND (NEWSRANGERS)-Rev Folorunshio Williams Kumuyi, founder of Deeper Life Bible Church with headquarters in Lagos and a global reach, is a man who has preached and strive to practice holiness, humility, Godliness, and the need to endure hardships and long suffering in serving God and humanity.
Since his Church came on board, while he was a lecturer at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Kumuyi, has been urging his members and non-members across the globe to strive daily to leave a Godly life so as to enjoy heavenly bliss when they die.
Our reporter baited that Easter and Christmas, for the church has always provided the opportunity for Kumuyi and his followers to package one retreat or the other, while the world. is either celebrating the birth of Jesus, the Christ, or mourning his dead on the cross and eventual resurrection.
This year, like in other years, our undercover reporter attended the Deeper Life Bible Church Easter retreat for 2025. The venue was the regional secretariat of the church located at Vesper bus-stop, near Wema Bank, along Lagos_Abeokuta expressway in Ifo, Ogun state. Indeed, it is noted that the eloquent Kumuyi was at his best when he spoke on Experiencing the Power of his Resurrection, where he appealed to his members, followers and other people all over the world to re-create themselves, since Jesus,. a sinless Messiah arrived this world, preached the gospel, heal the sick, comfort the broken hearted and was crucified for the sake of wiping away the collective sins and consciousness of humanity.
Indeed, the Deeper Life preacher man did a good job in drawing attention to the spiritual reasons Jesus came into our world more that 2000 years ago. However, observations throughout the period of the retreat revealed that the church provided rich and insightful spiritual and Godly messages to those who attended the events as well as those who watched and listened to Kumuyi from afar.
But, observers revealed that the pastor and members of the Church that planned the 2025 Easter retreat from Ifo in Ogun state end of the church, did a fantastic job. The venue was spotlessly clean, the toilets clean, security officers were polite, respectful and professional in the discharge of thier duties.
Since the Church in Ifo is located just a fence away from Wema and Access Banks, undercover and uniform police officers were sniffing around the DLBC venue for possible trouble The ushers and those charged with registration of participants were humble, polite and prompt in dealing with people who attended the retreat.
However, provision of food, service and delivery was poor. Half cup of tea with little or no sugar were served on all the days with a N300 Agege bread cut into half. In the afternoon and evening, it was one wrapped ball of eba with egusi soup without meat or fish. One of the pastors unknowingly told this writer that “each branch of the Church cuts its coat according to its cloth”. The Deeper Life. Kumuyi has the spiritual, financial and other capacities to support the many branches of his Church located in villages, slums and remote areas.
