Eight Passengers Injured As Commercial Mass Transit Bus Ram Into Stationary Truck In Lagos
LAGOS AUGUST 7TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Less than 24 hours after Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) rescued accident victimsat Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja, Lagos another eight accident victims were rescued at Anthony inward Ojota, Lagos when a commercial mass transit bus rammed into stationary truck.
Lastma Popoola Olushola ‘Commander’ (Kilo) who led the rescue team disclosed that the accident involved a broken down truck with a fully loaded mass transit bus with registration no KTU 850 YD.
Lastma Popoola disclosed further that preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the fully loaded commercial mass transit bus was on a top speed and lost control due to brake failure after noticing a broken down truck ahead of him.
He confirmed that Lastma Officials rescued 8 injured accident victims (2 males and 6 females).
“Immediately after the accident happened, Lastma Officials with support from Police men from Anthony Police Command quickly intervened and rescued 8 injured victims among those passengers inside the commercial mass transit bus”.
Rescued 8 accident victims were immediately rushed to nearby hospital for immediate medical attention.
The General Manager Mr Bolaji Oreagba while sympathizing with injured accident victims however enjoined motoring public particularly commercial bus drivers to be extra careful and ensure that the road is clear ahead and behind before over-taking on expressway across the State.
