All Blending Party BOT, NEC Disown Shipi Moses As Presidential Candidate

By Victor EBIMOMI
LAGOS OCTOBER 9TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The Board of Trustees (BOT) and National Executive Committee (NEC) of All Blending Party (ABP) have disowned Shipi Moses, as its presidential candidate, saying the party is yet to hold any convention to choose its flag bearer for 2019 presidential election.
The two apex arms of the party also described Shipi Moses, who proclaimed himself as the presidential candidate on Saturday October 6 in Abuja as an impostor who is neither a founding member of the party nor a serious-minded person capable of flying the flag of the party.
In press statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday October 9 and signed by three members of the BOT on behalf of others, the party said Shipi Moses in a move that smacked of dubiousness and criminality organized a kangaroo meeting/convention at Laps Hotel in Abuja without the knowledge of the apex arms of the party and proclaimed himself as
its presidential candidate.
The statement signed by Eric Annan, Moses Okwor and John Abel Obi, also added that in his characteristic criminal manoveuring, Shipi Moses also tricked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) into believing that the kangaroo meeting/convention was genuine
as he invited its officials to witness it.
The party insisted that Moses and Harrison Ogbatu, whom he trickily decorated in the garb of the party interim BOT chairman to achieve his dubious plan can never parade themselves as ABP members nor hold such sensitive positions as they are being investigated by Economic and
Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).
“Our attention has been drawn to a statement and actions of a self-imposed presidential candidate of our great party, ABP, by Mr. Shipi Moses, after a kangaroo meeting/convention he and some elements held on Saturday October 6, 2018 at LAPS Hotel, Abuja, in which in his characteristic criminal maneuvering misled INEC officials through an invitation to observe it.
“We wish to state unequivocally that the party BOT and NEC have not authorized any convention nor fixed a date for any convention.
“That Mr. Shipi Moses, and the purported interim BOT chairman, Harrison Ogbatu, have no such power as Moses is not even a founding member of the party but an impostor and moreso the party cannot put them forward for any position as the duo is being investigated by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on criminal cases.
“That the original plan was to have a convention in Kano on September 30, 2018 but was cancelled due to some unresolved issues and all interim members of BOT, NEC and other concerned members of our great party were put on notice.
“That we continue to wonder why someone who was not a founding member of the party but was only involved during some documentation processes could suddenly turn around in a way that smacks of dubiousness and criminality to claim to be its chairman and later went on to proclaimed himself as presidential candidate even when INEC has not so recognized. Can any politician hold such positions in Nigeria constitution as party chairman, chairman of convention committee and presidential candidate of the same party at the same time?
“That Shipi Moses and his accomplices in this criminal manipulation of our party activities is not acceptable and the general public is hereby notified that anybody that deals with him based on our great party does so at his/her own peril.
“That all the positions in the party for now are in interim capacity until a convention, which date will be announced publicly, covered by the media and supervised by INEC is held”, the statement read in part.
