10 Persons Escape Death As Armed Hoodlums Invade FESTAC Town Lagos
LAGOS DECEMBER 19TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Ten persons escaped death in Lagos on Wednesday when armed hoodlums numbering over 100 struck around the 6th Avenue area of FESTAC Town wielding guns and other dangerous weapons.
The authorities of the Lagos State Police Command, who confirmed the attack, added that policemen, who were deployed in the area successfully dispersed the hoodlums.
The Wednesday invasion occurred few months after two people were killed and many others injured in a similar attack on the community.
The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) had on November 30, 2020 charged popular Lagos market leader, Alhaji Taoridi Faronbi, popularly known as Alado, along with Olusegun Akeem (Echo) Ayokunle Fakiyesi, Idowu Akinde, Musiliu Oladejo, Mathew Lekan and Adeleke Akinjeji, all males, before Justice Sule Hassan on a three-count charge of conspiracy to wit and terrorism for the earlier attack, which occurred in March 2020.
Jamiu Apanishile, Secretary to the Kuje Amuwo family said, “The hoodlums who invaded the place on Wednesday claimed to have come to attack us over the case in court.”
It was a real miraculous escape for the people of the area as the hoodlums, who were brandishing guns, cutlasses, charms and axes searched for people around, it was gathered.
“We got a hint that they were coming to attack us in the area and we had already written petitions to the Area E Command and FESTAC Divisional Police Station but the hoodlums still came to attack us.
The resident said, “They have been boasting around that Baba Alado had bribed the police with N10 million and that the murder case file would be withdrawn from the Attorney General of the Federation’s office and the court.
