Tragedy: Bride Drowns In Well On Wedding Day
LAGOS DECEMBER 14TH (NEWSRANGERS)-A tragedy occurred in the Gajaja community in Danbatta local government area of Kano state on Thursday, December 12, when a 16-year old bride identified as Fatima Abubakar, fell inside a well and drowned while preparing for her wedding ceremony.
Premium Times, citing a report in BBC Hausa, stated that the bride visited a beautician who is also her sister, on Thursday morning when the accident occurred.
The father of the deceased, Mr Abubakar, told BBC Hausa service that the incident has thrown friends and members of his family into mourning. He didn’t provide details of how Fatima fell into the well but described it as an accident.
‘Now we are pleading with Hajiya Lami (the cosmetologist) whom the incident occurred at her residence. She is also a sister to the late bride. She is unconscious and unable to eat,” Abubakar said.
