OML30: Heritage Energy Disburses N1.2b GMoU Funds To 112 Host Communities


LAGOS SEPTEMBER 23RD (NEWSRANGERS)-The 112 oil producing and impacted communities in OML30 in Delta State, have received the sum of N1.2billion GMoU funds from Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited, HEOSL, and NPDC/SNRL JV Partners for the execution of community development projects.
Senior Advisor, Community Relations & Development, Prince Leonard Ovrawah disclosed the disbursement of the N1.2bn to the bank accounts of the twelve (12) Clusters Management Committees CMCs as provided in the Global Memorandum of Understanding.
Ovrawah, represented Head, Community Relations, Mr. Sylvester Okoh, at a meeting with relevant stakeholders, representatives of CDB, CMCs and HEOSL held at OML 30 Community Development Board (CDB) Secretariat, Ughelli.
Ovrawah said the distribution of funds was in line with the principle of derivation and equality amongst the Communities Clusters, and implored the stakeholders to ensure judicious use of the funds disbursed for the benefit of the communities and sustenance of the community development programs.
“It is important to note that the ultimate goal of the needs/livelihood assessment is to initiate a work plan to be drawn for each of the communities which shall guide and influence the execution of the projects/programmes for the sustainable development of the host communities”.
He emphasized need for Cluster Management Committees to take cognizance of the Community Development Plans as captured in the needs assessment report.
