NBC Axes AIT, Arise, Channels TV Over Unprofessional Coverage Of Lekki Shooting
LAGOS OCTOBER 27TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The National Broadcasting Station (NBC) has sanctioned three major broadcast stations over their alleged roles in escalation of violence across the nation .
The regulators fined Arise TV, African Independent Television (AIT) and Channels Television between N2million and N3million.
The stations were accused of airing unverified images of the alleged shooting.
A statement by the Director-General of the Commission, Prof. Armstrong Idachaba accused the media houses for their ”unprofessional coverage” of the Lekki shooting incident.
The stations were accused of airing unverified images of alleged shooting of #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate.
