Land Grabbers Storm Church, Disrupt Service, Beat Pastor, Worshipers
LAGOS FEBRUARY 28TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Members of the church located along challenge in Ibadan, Oyo state capital had all prepared to attend the last Sunday service in the month of February with a heart of praise and Thanksgiving to God.
It was however a different scenario at the church service as land grabbers forcibly ended the church service as they vandalized the church building and its environs, ending the church service abruptly. The presiding pastor of the church, Pastor Rotimi Sonibare explains the situation adding that there is an existing court case in the land but the supposed land grabber has continued to flaunt court orders due to his connection with security agencies.
The alleged popular land grabber according to the pastor has continued to be a threat to his life and the church members adding that church members no longer feel safe to come to the church at any time they want as these hoodlums continue to harass them threatening to also kill him as a person.
Another eye witness who is a member of the church expressed his fear to worship at the church adding that several people were injured during church service as the hoodlums pelted stone and other dangerous weapons at them.
On what next, the cleric raised concern on the connection between the alleged land grabber and security agencies which has made his apprehension an effort in futility.
It is worthy of note that the Oyo state government had signed a real property protection law which made the forceful seizure of anyone’s landed property across the state a criminal offence that attracts a maximum of 15 years imprisonment or a fine of 500,000 Naira or both among other provisions.
