The Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi who made this known while giving an update on the management of cases, isolation centres and testing mechanisms employed by the State Government with support from the Federal Government and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control stated that those discharged included an American citizen who was evacuated by his government.

Speaking about the nationalities of those on admission at the Yaba isolation Centre, the Lagos State Commissioner for Health said 91% of them are Nigerians, while the other nine percent are foreign nationals.

Revealing that testing have been increased from two-three hundred per day, Prof Abayomi said that as at yesterday, April 2nd 2020, two thousand four hundred and fifty people who had come in contact with confirmed Coronavirus patients were being traced and monitored for symptoms.

Professor Abayomi announced that the isolation centre at Onikan as well as that of Gbagada is now ready, but expressed optimism that in the next few weeks, the number of those testing positive for Coronavirus would continue to reduce as long as residents obey the stay at home directive, observe social distancing and maintain a high level of personal hygiene.

Reacting to the rumour about a woman who allegedly died of Coronavirus at Isheri-Olowoora area of the State, Professor Abayomi described the rumour as false and gave an assurance that anyone suspected to have contracted Coronavirus would always be tested, and immediately removed from his/her immediate environment for proper monitoring and treatment
