‘I’ll Return To Court On Friday And I’m Ready To Face Anybody That Tries To Stop Me’ – Apapa
LAGOS MAY 19TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The Factional Acting Chairman of the Labour Party, Lamidi Apapa has affirmed that he will return to court on Friday for the hearing session of the Labour Party petition at the Tribunal. Despite the humiliation and near-death experience which he claimed he faced at the court premises yesterday, he still assured Nigerians that they will see him in court tomorrow.
He asserted that he’s prepared to face anybody who tries to resist him at the court tomorrow. He also stated that he was not doing anything that is against the law or the land. According to him, what he’s demanding for is that Peter Obi and the Abure team should allow him to exert his authority as the National Chairman of the Labour Party. He denied ever withdrawing Peter Obi petition at the tribunal
When he was asked by Dr. Reuben Abati if he intends to return to Court tomorrow, he said, ”Even though I didn’t expect this kind of question but since you have asked. The answer is I will return to court tomorrow and I’m prepared to face anybody that tries to stop me. Nobody will compel me not to go. Let me tell you this clearly, if someone has the authority to do anything. Irrespective of the situation, you have to do it. The question I’m asking is am I doing something that is contrary to the law of the party? Am I doing something contrary to the law of the land by exerting my authority as the Chairman of the party?”
