Igboho Reacts To IGP’s Order For His Arrest, Says ‘I’m Too Big To Be Intimidated By Police’
LAGOS JANUARY 24TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho has broken his silence over the order given by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, for his arrest.
Igboho caused tension in the country when he ordered the Fulani herdsmen in Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government of Oyo State to leave the area within seven days.
At the expiration of the ultimatum on Friday, he addressed thousands of supporters in Igangan, insisting that the Fulanis must leave the town.
On Saturday, Adamu ordered the arrest of Igboho for giving quit notice to Fulani herdsmen.
Reacting on his twitter handle on Saturday night, Igboho asked whether it was not a crime for herdsmen to kill Dr. Fatai Aborode after invading his farm.
He also asked whether it was not a crime that Aborode later went to Seriki Fulani house to lay complain, but was tied and butchered and nothing happened.
He tweeted: “And it’s not a crime to Kill doctor akorede? whose farm was invaded and destroyed by Fulani cows, later went to Seriki Fulani house to lay complain, but was tied and butchered and nothing happened?”
In a video that has now gone viral, Sunday Igboho was seen talking with some group of men suspected to be his followers and well wishers. He was talking to these men about the different atrocities that are been committed by the Fulani men of Ibarpa Local Government in Oyo State. He further stated how the Yoruba kings of this present day no longer had value before Governors. In his words, he said the Kings deserve respect but it’s a pity that things have taken another angle.
During his conversation with these men, when talks about the arrest order reportedly issued against him by the government pops up, Sunday Igboho said, he is too big to be intimidated with police arrest.
He said the police can’t arrest him and even dare them to try. While speaking in Yoruba language, he said, even when he was nobody he never succumbed to threats and now that he is someone of affluence, threats and intimidation got nothing on him.
