Boko Haram Hitman Nabbed In Ondo State
LAGOS JANUARY 2ND (NEWSRANGERS)-The Ondo State Police Command on Monday paraded two suspected kidnappers including a notorious member of Boko Haram, Mohammed Jaihe, who has been on the wanted list of the security operatives in the country.
Jaihe was arrested along with one of his leiutenant, Jimoh Ahmed, in Ago Ajayi, near Oba Akoko in Akoko North West Local Government Area of the state during a clearance operations by the police.
According to the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gbenga Adeyanju, Jaihe and his group who had been declared wanted since 2016, had been operating in the Akoko forest for some period.
Adeyanju said the gang had participated in a number of kidnapping and armed robbery in the area and he has been identified by many of his victims.
He said a legal practitioner in the state had petitioned the State Police Command over Jaihe activities saying one of his victims remains in his captives since 2017.
He said the state police command would not rest on its oars to flush criminals out of the forest and the state while he called on the member of the public to always provide information about criminals and their activities in the state
Meanwhile, seven members of an armed robbery gang tormenting the residents of Ore in Odigbo Local Government Area of the state, led by Salami Aliyu a.k.a General Paul, we’re arrested in early hour of last Saturday
He said detectives from the state had been on the trail of Aliyu for some period before he was arrested with some of his group members where they were hibernating.
Adeyanju said the Armed hoodlums were arrested around Iroju area in Ore town after a tip off by some members of the public who noticed the activities of the hoodlums.
He said “they thereafter led the Police to the arrest of their kingpin and a leader Mr. Salami Aliyu a.k.a General Paul, a notorious armed robber and unrepentant cultist who had been involved in so many violent crimes within Ore and environs”
He listed the suspected to include: Salami Aliyu ‘m’ (General Paul), Segun Abiodun, Moyegun Adebayo, Afolabi Lukuman Daniel Olatunde, Adebayo Afeez, Oluwole Abiodun and Alabi Iyegigololi.
He said investigation is ongoing saying all the suspects would soon appear in court at the conclusion of investigation.
