Bandits Invade Kaduna Primary School, Kidnap Scores Of  Children

LAGOS MARCH 7TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Bandits have reportedly attacked a government primary school at Kuriga community of Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, abducting scores of children.

The community is located along the Kaduna Birnin-Gwari Road which has been under control of bandits for many years.

The police authorities and the Kaduna State government are yet to confirm the incident, but a local source told our correspondent that the bandits invaded the school at about 8:30am on Thursday and took away many pupils including the head teacher.

He said that many students sustained injuries as they attempted to flee from the school on sighting the bandits.

Bandits attack in the North-Western part of the country has been on the increase in recent times, with resident taking to the streets to protest the ugly trend.

On Tuesday, residents of Kankara Local Government Area in Katsina  State embarked on yet another protest over the incessant bandit attacks in their community.

The protest started at about 9 AM on Tuesday with hundreds of residents moving from Yargoje community to Burdugau community, calling on the government and other relevant agencies to come to their aid.

As part of their drive to get their voices heard, the protesters also blocked the Marabar Kankara-Katsina Road.

Tuesday’s protest was triggered by an attack on Unguwar Baushe community in Kankara town about 13 hours earlier.

Gunmen believed to be bandits in their numbers invaded the community at about 8:30 PM, setting several houses ablaze, and killing an unspecified number of people.
