LAGOS MAY 30TH (NEWSRNAGERS)-Atlético Madrid are reportedly ready to listen to summer transfer offers for Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, just six months after acquiring him from Serie A side Atalanta.
According to Spanish sports outlet Fichajes, manager Diego Simeone has authorized the club to look for a transfer partner, citing Lookman’s difficulties in adapting to the side’s rigid defensive and tactical demands. Atlético officials have reportedly placed a €60 million valuation on the 28-year-old attacker to recoup capital for a broader squad overhaul.
Lookman arrived in La Liga following an elite tenure with Atalanta, highlighted by a hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League final. However, a string of inconsistent performances and limited starts in Madrid have prompted the club to reallocate resources ahead of the upcoming season.
