LAGOS OCTOBER 18TH (NEWSRANGERS)-A new report from SER has made a surprising revelation that there is growing tension inside Barcelona between Hansi Flick and Lamine Yamal.
The issue reportedly began when the young winger arrived late to a pre-match session ahead of the Champions League clash against PSG.
It is known that Flick has always been strict when it comes to discipline. The German coach is known for punishing players who show up late for training, team meetings, or matchday preparations.
According to the report, Yamal’s late arrival did not go down well with Flick, who told the youngster that he won’t start against PSG.
Despite that, Yamal still played, and this decision created confusion and frustration within the team.
The situation became so tense that Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director, had to step in to calm things down.
However, Flick did not appreciate this intervention. He reportedly believes his authority was undermined, as he insists that all players must follow the same rules without exception.
Barcelona’s concerns about Yamal’s lifestyle
The disagreement between Flick and Yamal is not the only issue worrying the club. Sources from within Barcelona have expressed unease about certain aspects of the youngster’s personal life.
As one source said, “There is some concern about Lamine’s day-to-day life.
“It’s not alarming, but we don’t like some of the things that have been happening with the player in recent months. We don’t like the way he’s been living and the life he’s been leading.”
This has raised eyebrows inside the dressing room as well. Several players, including Jules Kounde, Raphinha, and Inaki Pena, have been punished for similar reasons, yet Yamal faced no such consequence.
That inconsistency has not gone unnoticed among teammates. Flick remains determined to maintain discipline in the squad, and this episode could serve as an important test of his authority.
Whether the coach continues to impose strict rules or adjusts his approach after Deco’s involvement remains to be seen.
What is clear, however, is that the harmony between Flick and Yamal may take time to restore, and Barcelona will be watching closely how both men handle the situation moving forward.

Recent reports from Spanish outlet Cadena SER’s EL Larguero suggested that Flick was set to punish star youngster Lamine Yamal for arriving late but was allegedly prevented from doing so by sporting director Deco.
The German manager, however, made clear that the rumors were false, insisting that the atmosphere at Barcelona remains positive, despite the squad being hit by a number of key injuries.
Flick rubbishes rumors of rifts
Ahead of Barca’s La Liga clash with Girona on Saturday (October 18), Flick tackled questions surrounding alleged tensions behind the scenes with Deco.
“I don’t know where you have got that information from, but at the end, I’m sorry about the choice of words, but it’s totally b*******, okay?!” he told reporters.
“I never, never was asked that. I really appreciate how they [the board] believe in my work. They would never ask me something like this.
“So, I can say it’s b*******! And if someone said this, he’s lying.”
Barca are, however, facing something of an injury crisis, with a number of key players currently sidelined.
The Blaugrana will be without Robert Lewandowski, Dani Olmo, Gavi, Raphinha, Joan Garcia and Marc-Andre ter Stegen for the clash against Girona.
Yamal and Fermin Lopez have encouragingly been passed fit, but Flick suggested neither will be able to feature for the full 90 minutes.
Flick downplayed the effect of the injuries, though, stressing that the team must start strongly and deliver for their supporters.
Barca go into Saturday’s game in desperate need of a win, having suffered two losses on the trot to Paris Saint-Germain in the and Sevilla in La Liga before the international break.
“We have to be at our highest level and play our best football. We need to show attitude on the pitch. We’re FC Barcelona, and our supporters want to see us fight for every ball.
“We have a run of games coming up, and I’ve told the players we have to fight for every title. Playing our best football to win. That’s what I want from this team.”
