Germany Chancellor Escapes Death During Hamas’ Missiles Attack At Tel Aviv Airport
LAGOS OCTOBER 20TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz had to abandon his plane and seek safety on Wednesday 18 October when he received an alert about a missile attack at Tel Aviv Airport shortly before his departure. Reports indicate that passengers at the airport were instructed to lie down on the runway. Journalists present also had to follow this safety protocol.
Israel’s Iron Dome defense system successfully intercepted two rockets fired by Hamas from Gaza over the Tel Aviv Airport. However, Chancellor Scholz was taken to a nearby container and then to a safe shelter instead of lying on the runway. After the missiles were intercepted, passengers were able to reboard the plane.
Chancellor Scholz mentioned that he had discussions with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding how humanitarian aid could reach civilians in the war-stricken Gaza Strip. He also committed to sharing this information with Egypt’s president.
The war between Israel and Palestine continues to intensify as more casualties and destructions are being reported. Pleas by other nations to have Israel cease fire have backfired. Israel has vowed to wipe all the Hamas terrorists for attacking their country.
