2019: Ex-Super Eagles Captain, Kanu Debunks Rumour Of Presidential Race

Kanu

LAGOS APRIL 3RD (NEWSRANGERS)-Former Super Eagles’ skipper, Nwankwo Kanu, has denied media reports linking him with Nigeria’s presidential race in 2019.
The Atlanta ’96 Olympics gold medalist reacted to the news on Monday.
Kanu distanced himself from the report, saying he has no plans to unseat President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the Arsenal legend: “The report is an imagination of some people as running for the presidency is not in my agenda at least for now.
“I wonder how people go to the press without finding out from you. I believe journalism has gone beyond doing guess work.”
A football portal on Sunday claimed the retired striker is eyeing the number one citizen’s seat in the 2019 general election with sole dream of transforming the most populous black nation.
It can be recalled that Kanu ended his international career after Nigeria’s exit from the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
The retired player won 86 caps and scored 13 goals in the colours of Nigeria.
