World Cup: Argentina Ready For Eagles, unveils 34-Man Squad
LAGOS APRIL 16TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Argentina coach, Jorge Sampaoli, has penciled down a 34-man list ahead of FIFA’s deadline for lists submission ahead of the Russia 2018 World Cup.
Mauro Icardi’s name was however conspicuously missing on the list.
The coach listed Sergio Romero, Franco Armani, Wilfredo Caballero, Nahuel Guzman, Agustín Marchesin, Fabricio Bustos, Gabriel Mercado, Nicolás Tagliafico, Nicolás Otamendi, Ramiro Funes Mori, Marcos Rojo, Federico Fazio, Maxi Meza, Enzo Perez, Pablo Perez, Ever Banega, Giovani Lo Celso, Ángel Di Maria, Manuel Lanzini, Erik Lamela, Lucas Biglia, Diego Perotti, Eduardo Salvio and Marcos Acuna.
Others are Matías Kranevitter, Emiliano Rigoni, Leandro Paredes, Javier Mascherano, Cristian Pavon, Lautaro Martinez, Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain.
According to TyC Sports, Sampaoli will be travelling to Europe in the next few weeks to speak with a large number of players.
He has already started speaking with players based in the domestic league. Independiente duo Fabricio Bustos and Maxi Meza were the first two players to speak with the coach and the next day it was the turn of River Plate duo Enzo Perez and goalkeeper Franco Armani.
In Europe, the coach will meet with Messi, Mercado, Ever Banega, Giovani Lo Celso, Angel Di Maria and others.
The Super Eagles are in the same group with Argentina at the Russia 2018 World Cup.
