UEFA: Victor Osimhen Left Out Quarter-Final First Leg Against AC Milan
LAGOS APRIL 12TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Victor Osimhen has been left out of Napoli’s squad for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against AC Milan on Wednesday due to an abductor injury.
The 24-year-old striker has been in scintillating form for the Serie A leaders this season scoring 25 goals in 29 appearances in all competitions.
However, Napoli will be without the Nigeria international at the San Siro after the injury forced him to leave the club’s training camp in Castel Volturno.
The club hope that the forward will recover in time for the second leg on April 18 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Osimhen has missed his side’s last two games including the 4-0 defeat by AC Milan on April 2.
The striker, who also missed three group-stage games through injury, has scored four goals in five Champions League matches this season including a brace against Eintracht Frankfurt on March 15.
Giovanni Simeone will also be unavailable for the game due to a hamstring injury.
