Senate Gives Police, DSS 24 Hours To Find Stolen Mace


LAGOS APRIL 18TH (NEWSANGERS)-The National Assembly has given the police and the Department of State Services 24 hours to restore the maze stolen by hoodlums allegedly led by suspended Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.
The Deputy Senate President, Dr. Ike Ekweremadu, who presided over a joint sitting of the members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, vowed to stand by democracy and defend it.
Ekweremadu added that there was an attempt to kidnap two senators in the chamber by the hoodlums.
According to him: “Some armed thugs invaded the Senate chamber and forcefully took away the mace of the Senate.
“They attempted to kidnap two of our colleagues, but left.”
