LAGOS SEPTEMBER 8TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Both the Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police, Muyiwa Adejobi, and the Nasarawa State Police Command have reacted to a claim by a man who disclosed that he saw policemen selling Indian hemp at a checkpoint, saying they are investigating the matter.

The man, whose name is Uyi Samuel with the Twitter handle @samiboss4pf, had written on his handle how he saw policemen at a checkpoint on Abacha Road in Karu Mararaba area on the border between Nasarawa State and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

According to him, the policemen were openly selling the Indian hemp to those who wished to buy from them at the checkpoint while also harassing and extorting young boys, especially those on motorcycles.

According to his tweet: “The worst are in Abacha Road in the Karu Mararaba axis of Abuja-Nasarawa border point. They are marijuana dealers openly selling at their checkpoint, not even a stone’s throw.

“It is baffling that they don’t do anything to them but rather, they stop all boys on bike. Prince Muyiwa Adejobi, please look into it, Karu Abbatoir.”

However, reacting to the allegation, both Adejobi and Nasarawa State Police Command disclosed that they will investigate the matter.

According to Adejobi on his Twitter handle: “Sent to the command. They wil handle this.”

Also, the Nasarawa State Police Command on its Twitter handle wrote: “This is noted for necessary action.”
