Police Neutralize Two Suspected Trans- Border Kidnappers, Recover Four  AK-47


LAGOS DECEMBER 5TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Two members of a kidnap gang were shot dead while others were said to have escaped with bullet wounds when men of the Adamawa State Police Command alongside hunters raided their hideout at a mountain in the state, the command announced on its X handle on Monday.

During the raid on the hideout of the gang, said to be operating between Nigeria and Cameroon, four AK-47 rifles, 92 rounds of live bullets, among others, were said to have been recovered from them

It was gathered that the kidnap gang was operating in Adamawa, Gombe, Yobe states, part of Taraba State as well as Cameroon where they abducted their victims and demanded for huge ransoms before releasing them.

The long arm of the law however caught up with them when operatives attached to the Crack Squad of the command, in a joint operation with the hunters, raided the Bagale Mountain in the Furore Local Government Area of the state where the kidnappers were hiding.

On sighting the police operatives and the hunters, the kidnappers were said to have engaged them in a gun duel and during the exchange, two of them were gunned down while others were said to have escaped with bullet wounds.

According to a statement by the state police command through its Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Nguroje and posted on the X handle of the command, items said to have been recovered from the hideout included four AK-47 rifles, 92 rounds of live bullets, among others.

The statement added that efforts are on for the arrest of the fleeing members of the kidnap gang.
