LAGOS SEPTEMBER 3RD (NEWSRANGERS)-The Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, on Sunday confirmed an attempt by a gang to break into a bank in the state.

He said the police received a distress call around 4:20 a.m. and responded swiftly to the situation.

He disclosed this on his Twitter handle while responding to the tweet of a man who wrote about the incident, accompanied with photographs.

The man, whose Twitter handle is @deji_lambo, disclosed in his tweet that the gang members attempted to break into the unnamed bank situated opposite Maplewood Estate in Oko Oba.

He said the gang members had already destroyed the security doors in order to gain entrance when the policemen got to the scene, adding that while others fled on sighting the policemen, one of them was arrested.

However, it could not be ascertained where the security officials of the bank who were supposed to be on night duty were when the attempt to break into the bank occurred.
