PDP Announces Imminent Defection Of More APC Govs, Federal Lawmakers
LAGOS SEPTEMBER 6H (NEWSRANGERS)-The All Progressives Congress (APC) may gradually be losing its place as the ruling party as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the looming defection of more of its governors and federal lawmakers to the opposition party.
The PDP, in a statement on Wednesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said it was finalizing discussions for the “harvest of another round of defectors” to its fold from the ruling APC.
It would be recall that prior to the massive defections of governors, senators and other members that recently hit the APC, the opposition PDP had warned the ruling party of an imminent defection of its prominent members to its party.
The statement reads:
“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) confirms that it is concluding discussions with more state governors and members of the National Assembly elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of their decampment to the PDP.
“The party said it has already concluded discussions with six APC governors and 27 APC members in the National Assembly, who have also drawn their consultations and secured the mandates of their constituents to move to the PDP ahead of the 2019 general election.
