Panic At Old Trafford As Odion Ighalo Set To Quit Man United

LAGOS MAY 15TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Nigerian football star could be heading back to China after both Shanghai Shenhua and Manchester United failed to reach an agreement over his loan extension.

The 30-year-old’s initial temporary stay at Old Trafford expires at the end of this month but the Red Devils want to keep the striker until the season is over.

Football action in England has been on suspension since mid-March following the overbreak of deadly coronavirus which has forced the season to be elongated.

According to reports, the EPL is scheduled to return on June 12 after the UK government announced professional sports could resume from the first day of the coming month.

However, United are not interested in making Ighalo’s deal permanent as they want to enjoy his services a little more but with less financial commitment.

Having joined them in late January, the former Super Eagles attacker has scored four times and assisted one other goal in eight appearances.

His first brace during the club’s 3-0 win over Championship side Derby County in March and has also scored in the Europa League.

SunSport quoting Standard claims United are hoping they can get an extension from his club to play the remaining nine EPL matches left this season.

Meanwhile, Shanghai Shenhua will not listen to any other offer different from the £20 million deal they demanded for the player.

Ole Gunnar Solakjser definitely wants to sign a forward as Timo Werner and Moussa Dembele are the targets for the Norwegian forward.

The duo might earn lower than Ighalo whose current pay in China stands at £300,000-per-week.

Bioreports earlier reported that Ahead of a possible resumption of the 2019/2020 English Premier League season, Manchester United star Odion Ighalo was seen at a public park in Cheshire on Monday, May 11.

As the ace was having his exercises, he was joined by a mystery woman as they had the session together.
