OML30: Delta Council Chairman Lauds Heritage Energy’s Development Plan For Host Communities

LAGOS SEPTEMBER 5H (NEWSRANGERS)- The Executive Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Micheal Tidi has commended Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (HEOSL), for its community development plans and programmes in OML 30.
Dr Tidi was particularly impressed by the robust GMoU which the company helped to put in place to guide her relationship with the host communities. The Chairman, who gave the commendation at a meeting with Heritage’s Community Relations Team held at Edjeba, also noted that the meeting was aimed at opening a new vista of collaboration between the company and the Warri South Local Government Council.
Head, Community Relations, Mr. Sylvester Okoh, however, raised concerns on security situation and the rampant illegal bunkering activities in the OML30, and urged the Chairman being the Chief Security Officer to assist the company in its goal and efforts to reduce security threats to its operations to the barest minimum.
He assured that Heritage will encourage OML 30 scholarship awardees to study courses that will turn out to be most useful to them in the future vis a vis the business opportunities available to them in their immediate environment.
Okoh also informed the Chairman that the company had commenced Student Industrial Work Experience (SIWES) programme two months ago and will gladly welcome candidates from Warri South Local Government in the nearest future.
Also, the Manager, Business Support Services, Mr Lucky Obiuwevbi reiterated Heritage’s willingness for collaboration, and HEOSL being a responsible organization acknowledged the host communities and relevant stakeholders as partners in progress.
Obiuwevbi said “in the spirit of rekindling businesses and business opportunities in Warri, there is an urgent need to arrest security challenges. There is also the urgent need to inform the State government of the need to enlarge the Warri airport as well as the dredging of the Excravos river for easier access to the ports”
