Ogun: Multi-Million Naira Loss, Juju Scare Trail 20TH Coronation Ceremony Of Oba Oladipupo Of Ifo

LAGOS APRIL 29TH (NEWSRNAGERS)-The 20th Coronation celebration of Oba Samuel Atanda Oladipupo, the Ayerounwi 1,Olu of Ifoland, has come and gone with successful fun memories.The event which attracted the high and the mighty in the political, economic, social and other circles was held Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Ifo town hall in Ogun state.
However, days to the D-day of the colourful event, security agents comprising the police, DSS operatives, NSCD officers, So-Safe officers, as well as Amotekun and OPC, the Yoruba ethic militia groups placed Ifo, the largest local government area in Ogun state, as well as Egbaland on 24 hour surveillance.
Credible security sources disclosed that Ifo was placed on red alert to forestall the breakdown of law and order, before, during and after the celebration.
But, our undercover reporter, who scanned Ifo market and it’s environs on the celebration day observed that palm rafia, red clothes and shells of snails were conspicuously tied at the entry and exit points of the market to prevent traders and buyers from entering the market hence it was declared as market free day for the celebration.
It was however commendable to note that the police and other government security agents as well as the ethnic militia security outfits on ground successful secured the market and other places in Ifo before, during and after the celebration.
The Ifo town hall, where the event took place was also well secured with no casualties recorded, under cover reporter noted. But,some of the traders, who unknowingly spoke with our reporter lamented that though the celebration was welcome development, traders at the market lost millions of Naira to the one-day celebration, while buyers and customers were left with no option than to patronise prime mart superstores as well as traders on their various streets.
An Igbo trader, selling garri, rice, beans and other raw food items said he was hard hot on the celebration day, as he was expecting some of his customer on the D-day as he was expecting his customers to come around to buy his food items.
It was further gathered that High Chief Willie Okonkwo the Eze_Ndigbo 1 of Ogun state state,was among the many prominent persons that supported the celebration of Oba Oladipupo.
