Lagos Tanker Explosion: Family Declares Driver, 3-Year-Old Boy Missing


LAGOS JUNE 30TH NEWSRANGERS)-A family member,Funmi Balogun has declared a three-year-old boy, Eyitayo and a private car driver, Mr Joseph missing.
She alleged that the driver has allegedly eloped with a three-year-old boy during the tanker explosion at the Otedola Bridge, Ojodu-Berger, Lagos on Thursday.

A tanker conveying fuel had exploded at the Ojodu Berger area of the state.
The inferno claimed ten lives, razed 67 vehicles and a tricycle and during the confusion, a driver of a car, disappeared with a child in the private car he was driving.
According to her, the missing boy was in company with his mother, his twin sister and the driver in the car when the tanker exploded.
While posting the boy’s photograph on her page fabrics_n_more, she said:”This boy in this picture is a three-year-old, Eyitayo. He was involved in the unfortunate tanker accident with his mother, twin sister and the driver at Otedola bridge yesterday (Thursday) evening.
“They were a few cars away from the tanker when the explosion occurred. The driver (Mr. Joseph) carried Eyitayo while the mother escaped with Eyitoke(Eyitayo’s twin sister).
“The whereabouts of Eyitayo and Mr. Joseph is still unknown as all attempt to trace them at the scene of the accident proved abortive and they have not returned home. Anyone with information should please call 08033148161 or approach the nearest police station.”
When contacted as at press time, Balogun, declined to state if they had gone to the Emergency and Trauma Centre at the old toll gate to look for the driver and the child.
She, however , stated that as at .pm, they were yet to know their whereabouts, as neither driver nor boy has returned back home.
