How Mother Of 4 Children Spends Years In Prison For Offence Committed By Runaway Husband
LAGOS JUNE 6TH (NEWSRANGERS)-A thirty- five-year old woman, Bose Abiodun, who is a mother of four children spent over two years in Ilesha Prison (Correctional Centre) after her husband, Femi under was under trial for manslaughter flee, according a an exclusive interview she granted The Punch recently.
The husband Femi who is a native of Ekiti state had was a hunter in Ijebu- Jesa, Osun state and had mistaken a man for an animal during a hunting expedition in January 2014 and shot the person . The person eventually died.
Femi was subsequently arrested and arraigned. The court remanded him in Ilesha Prison where he spent over a year. A lawyer later got his bail while his wife and his elder brother Dele stood as sureties for him.
According to Bose who is a native of Ijebu- Jesa in the Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State, after his husband got bail, he and his brother who also stood as surety for him ran away and as a result she was picked up.
On April 11, 2018, the mother of three (as she then was) was arraigned and remanded in Ilesha Prison because her husband who was accused had run away .
She explained further that after she was sent to prison, she discovered that she was pregnant with her fourth baby. She gave birth to her baby on September 2 , 2018.
While explaining that her husband refused to show up till date, she also stated that even though she called his parents, they did not bother to check on her while she was in prison.
It was only her mother and her brother that were constantly checking up on her until after a while that her mother suddenly stopped coming. However, when she asked her brother about iy, he said her mother was well and okay but just decided to stop coming. It was after her eventual release that she discovered her mother had died.
Explaining that she was granted pardon by the Chief Justice panel, she said she was happy to be released. On her husband, she explained she will never forgive him and had no plan to ever remarry again.
