How Lagos Journalist, Others Escape Death On Third Mainland Bridge Auto-Crash
This is the state of the bus Oshonogor and others got the accident
LAGOS JULY 20TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Lagos journalist and member of Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN), Mr Frank Oshonogor and other passengers escaped death by a whisker when the commercial bus in which they were travelling to Obalende, Lagos lost control and crashed onto the pavement of the Third Mainland bridge and almost plunge into Lagos lagoon.
Oshonogor who posted what happened on the platform of CRAN Members while thanking God for saving his life and that of others recounted, “ Dear colleagues, I really appreciate your show of love for me over this accident. I never knew in my life that God loves me this much because what happened was enough to take the life of every person in that bus. It happened about 1.50pm on Third Mainland Bridge. I was on my way to Obalende after boarding the bus at Alapere junction.
“The driving was smooth all through until we were approaching Adeniyi Adele end of the bridge. The driver saw traffic in front and as he applied brake, there was sudden unusual noise from the steering area.
“In a second, the bus started waving to the right and to the left. As the driver tried to control it, the steering could not grip, thus making the bus which was on motion highly uncontrollable. It headed towards the centre pavement and crashed onto it. The impact was quite devastating as the closed door forcefully flung out with the Conductor thrown out.
“By divine intervention, none of the passengers sustained serious injuries except the conductor. We managed to get out from the bus before LASTMA officials raced to the scene. They were shocked to notice that nobody died despite the impact.
“The two front tyres of the bus got burst in the process of the accident. To avoid causing traffic, LASTMA officials quickly got a towing van to remove the bus from the scene. I have just arrived my house few minutes ago. I remain grateful to all CRANITES. It is not our portion to die prematurely by God’s grace.”
