Help,“I’m In Pain, I’m Dying” – Ex-Super Eagles Defender Begs For Assistance

LAGOS MAY 18TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Former Nigeria International, Sunday Eboigbe has written the Nigeria Football Federation and the Sports Minister, Sunday Dare to save his life stating that “he is dying”.

The Super Eagles strongman famously known for his central-defensive partnership with Bright Omokaro at the 1988 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) said he needs help to survive a 12-year battle with stroke.

The New Nigeria Bank (NNB) regular played for the national team of Nigeria from 1983 to 1990 appearing 58 times and helped himself to two AFCON silver in 1984 and 1988. So effective was the defensive pair that Eagles conceded only three on field goals throughout ‘88 AFCON.

At club levels Eboigbe featured for Bendel Insurance, New Nigeria Bank (NNB), Iwuanyanwu, Elkanemi Warriors and Abiola Babes between 1982 and 1993.

He won the Nigeria National division one league as well as two WAFU Cup titles with the defunct NNB of Benin and the Nigeria professional league with Iwuanyanwu.
