Gunmen Executes Ex-Imo Council Boss

Chris-Ohizu

LAGOS JANUARY 23RD (NEWSRANGERS)-Abductors of the Sole Administrator of the Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, Christopher Ohizu, have ended his life in the most brutal manner by beheading him three days after he was captured from his home in Arondizuogu and after allegedly collecting N6million as ransom.

The former council boss, who was kidnapped on Friday, with two others from his village abode in Imoko, Arondizuogu, met his fatal fate on Sunday, with a video accompanying the murder, showing his assailants, first tying his hands and legs behind him before slaughtering him like a goat.

A voice note accompanying the gory incident, was overheard, warning that other politicians standing on the way of the realising Biafra as a separate country from Nigeria, by participating in politics in the country, particularly that of the 2023 elections would meet the same fate, one after the other.

The gunmen, who said they were neither members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) or the parent body, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), but a special group concerned about the current massive killings in the South East, had a special message for Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, warning him that he would share a similar fate, for allegedly conniving with sponsors of Boko Haram to champion the carnage.

It was gathered that the gunmen, who vowed that there would be no elections in the Southern Region, which now includes the South East and parts of the South South, actually posted the video, using the mobile phone of the victim and on his own WhatsApp status.

The Sun quoted the spokesman of the Imo State Police Command, Henry Okoye, as promising to come up with response on the development later.
