LAGOS DECEMBER 19TH (NEWSRANGERS)-An Abuja-based Juju musician popularly known as Omoba De Jombo Beats and his crew members were reportedly kidnapped on Sunday in Kogi State while travelling to perform at an event.

Another Nigerian musician, Adeyinka Adeboye, popularly known as Boyebest disclosed the information on the abduction in a post on his Instagram account.

He said that the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N10 million for the release of the musician and each of his crew members.

Boyebest wrote, “A whole full band members kidnapped, Naija is ****ed up I swear, my prayers are with you guys. You all would come out alive.

“@omobadejumbobeats and his band men were kidnapped on their way to Kogi from Abuja for a performance yesterday. Please we need help as the kidnappers are demanding N10m ransom on each person.

“God please bring these your children back home. This is so so scary. God have mercy.”

Another Instagram user, Ayo Omodogbe (@aysneakey) said the incident happened along Obajana/Kabba Bunu Road in Kogi State.

“We are based in Abuja. They are on their way back from a function in Ondo. It happened along Obajana/Kabba road.

“In fact that road is now like a den for kidnappers and the suspicious thing is there are lots of police checkpoints on that road. Pls pray for them. It’s so disheartening,” Ayo said.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Kogi State Police Command, SP William Aya, said he had received information about the kidnap incident but promised to make inquiries and get across to SaharaReporters after doing so.

He had not got back at the time of filing this report.
