Group Alleges Double Standard In NDDC Promotion Exam, Hails Senate Probe
LAGOS JULY 15TH (NEWSRANGERS)-A Port Harcourt based group, Port Harcourt Elites For Justice has alleged that the management of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) was practising double standard on promotion examinations for staff.
A spokesman of the group who identified himself as Sir Clifford Douglas made the allegation in an interaction with our correspondent at Port Harcourt while commenting on the on going probe of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the commission by the Senate last weekend.
Douglas who said that the group was in total support of the probe alleged that some staff of the commission of Akwa Ibom origin on grade levels 12 and above were promoted without promotion examination in last May and that the management of Niger Delta Development Commission had scheduled promotion examinations for staff of other states of origin.
While applauding the federal government for rescinding its decision on opening of examination classes for fear of the spread od the dreaded COVID-19 , Douglas called on the management of NDDC to shelve its decision on the promotion examinations for the same reason and to promote staff due for promotion without examination.
Efforts to reach management of NDDC to comment on the allegation proved abortive.
