Exam Malpractice: WAEC Invigilator In Police Net For Obtaining N4,000 From Each Students
LAGOS AUGUST 20TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The River State Commissioner of Education, Prof. Kaniye Ebeku has arrested one Mr. Emeka Ricky for involving in illegal collection of money for exam malpractice.
Emeka Ricky is a teacher from Community Secondary School Ogbogoro in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area. He was arrested during the first paper yesterday, GENERAL MATHEMATICS. The sum of four hundred and forty thousand naira (#440,000) was found inside the drawer, of which the students have contributed.
Meanwhile, some parents has complained bitterly about the collection of #4000 from each student for the school in the name of payment for clearance fee.
Notwithstanding, the culprit, Ricky has claimed that the N4,000 was the money the student contributed for stockings, school badge and for assistance.
Also, the Commissioner has stated clearly that the state government have banned any form of charges placed on students in this kind of situation.
The Commissioner ordered that they should refund the students their money.
