Cross River’s Socio-Cultural Organisation Charging Point, Inducts New Members, Reaffirms Commitment To Unity, Love And Service

LAGOS OCTOBER 4TH (NEWSRANGERS)-One of Cross River State’s fastest growing socio-cultural organisations, Charging Point Club International, has inducted new members into its fold, further expanding its community of friends united by shared values, solidarity and commitment to one another.

The new members were formally inducted during a colourful ceremony held in Calabar at the weekend, marking what the organisation described as the beginning of a new chapter for the inductees and the wider Charging Point family.

Speaking during the ceremony, the President of Charging Point, Mr. Sylvester Abang, charged the new members to conduct themselves responsibly and uphold the values of the organisation wherever they find themselves.

“Today marks the beginning of a new era as we gather here to induct some of our own. This club was established in 2018 with about 24 members; today we have over 140 members.”

Abang urged the inductees to see their membership not merely as an association but as a responsibility to themselves, the organisation and society.

“You are now ambassadors of Charging Point. Conduct yourselves responsibly, set good examples and let your actions reflect the values that brought us together.”

According to the President, Charging Point has evolved over the years into a strong social organisation built around friendship, social cohesion, mutual support and a shared sense of identity and service.

He explained that the organisation is not established as a profit-making venture, but as a platform where members can build meaningful relationships, support one another and contribute positively to society.

“For those of you who have followed our trajectory, you will understand that this organisation is a non-profit organisation. We function as a social organisation with shared values, supporting each other.”

The President also emphasised the importance of members paying their monthly dues promptly, describing the contributions as the organisation’s primary source of funds for sustaining its activities and responding to emergencies involving members.

He urged members to make timely payment of their dues, stressing that the financial commitment of members remains essential to keeping the club running effectively and ensuring that it can provide support whenever the need arises.

Abang noted that Charging Point has remained resilient for more than eight years and has continued to grow, with members spread across different parts of the world.

The President described Charging Point as a family where members stand together in both moments of celebration and difficult times.

He stressed that the organisation places a strong emphasis on love, unity and peaceful resolution of disagreements, adding that members are encouraged to resolve their differences as a family rather than allow disputes to divide them.

“We celebrate with those who are celebrating and mourn with those who mourn. We hold no grudges against ourselves. We sit as a family and resolve issues whenever they arise.”

He described the organisation’s journey as one driven by sacrifice, friendship and a desire to create something meaningful for present and future generations.

“We make a lot of sacrifices as friends who have come together to support each other. We preach love and sacrifice here in Charging Point.”

While acknowledging that Charging Point is not a money making venture, the President said the organisation is focused on laying a foundation that will benefit its members and the public in the years ahead.

“It is not a money-making venture. We are laying the foundation for a better future for our members and our immediate society.”

He encouraged the newly inducted members to embrace the organisation’s ideals and contribute actively to its continued growth.

With its membership extending beyond Cross River State and Nigeria, Charging Point Club International continues to position itself as a platform where friendship transcends geographical boundaries and where members remain connected through shared values, mutual support, sacrifice, service and solidarity.
