Bayelsa Journalist’s Family Escapes Death As Heavy Storm Removes Roof Of His House

LAGOS MAY 9TH, (NEWSRANGERS)-The family of Bayelsa journalist, Samuel Ese, who works with the Business Day Newspapers on Wednesday escaped death as   storm with strong winds blew off  the roof of his house and submerged one side of the building.

The incident occurred at the outskirts of Yenagoa at Banga Camp along Yenagoa/Anyama Road. NewsRangers correspondent who was at the scene observed that the storm  removed part of the roof, carried it some distance before depositing it between two other houses,  adding that it equally folded the remaining part of the roof.

 Ese told NewsRangers correspondent  who visited him after the incident that he was at a meeting at the Federated Correspondents’ Chapel, but his family was inside when the incident occurred.

He disclosed that he is grateful that despite the severity of the incident no life was lost and expressed appreciation to God for safeguarding his family and neighbours.

A one-time chairman of the Federated Correspondents’ Chapel, Ese has appealed for help from the state government, corporate organizations and philanthropists in order to resettle his family.
