Army Transport School Lauds Obaseki, To Train Edo Firemen, Drivers

LAGOS AUGUST 7TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The Commander, Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport, Brigadier-General Bolaji Salami has lauded the support extended to the school by the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, despite the federal ownership of the institution.
Salami who paid a courtesy visit to the governor on Monday, 7th August, 2017 in Government House, Benin City, said: “We thank you for the assistance you have given to the school over time and hope you will continue to support the school. In addition to the support for the school, we also want you to support the Nigerian Army the way you have been supporting all other security agencies.”
Brigadier-General Salami explained that the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport supports the 4 Mechanized Brigade of the Nigerian Army with manpower for the security of the state; provides medical services for people in Ehor Community and supports the Edo State Fire Service in the discharge of its duties.
He assured of the school’s readiness to support the Obaseki-led administration to ensure the state is secure for growth and development.
In his response, Governor Obaseki said his administration was doing everything possible to make life more comfortable for the personnel in Army formations and other security officials in the state.
He explained that he was not pleased with what the government saw at some of these military formations when he visited them.
According to the governor, “We don’t see anything wrong in building facilities and supporting the Army to make life more comfortable for their officials.”
Obaseki further said his administration would collaborate with the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST) to develop the capacity of staffs of the Edo State Fire Service and drivers, considering its location in the state.
He commended the Military for ensuring the security of lives and property in the state and for impacting positively on its host communities.
