Armed Bandits On Rampage In Zamfara, Killed Baby, Six Others

LAGOS OCTOBER 27TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Suspected armed bandits yesterday killed at least seven people including a baby in Anka local government area of Zamfara state Daily Trust gathered.
The residents were on their way to the local Dankurmi market when the armed bandits intercepted them and started collecting monies, mobile phones, motorbikes and other valuables from them.
Residents told our correspondent that the armed bandits killed anyone who resisted them, adding that among those killed was an old woman with her grandchild.
“Dozens of them wielding rifles stopped the residents on their way to Dankurmi market between Sabon Birnin Banaga and Duhuwa villages killing people,” a resident Aliyu Kawaye said.
He said they seized and burnt down many motorcycles from traders adding that there was a case of a young chap who they killed and also burnt his motorbike.
Another resident, Murtala Kurar Mota, said one woman and a baby were killed after the bandits opened fire on the vehicle conveying them to the market.
He said the driver incurred the wrath of the armed bandits when he refused to stop.
The spokesman of the state police command could not be reached for comment up to the time of filing this report.
