AFCON: Super Eagles Coach Gives Update On Goalkeeper Injury Ahead Of  Angola Match

NWAKALI

LAGOS JANUARY 28TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Head coach of the Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro, has said they will assess Stanley Nwabali ahead of their game against Angola.

Nigeria qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, thanks to a 2-0 win over Cameroon on Saturday.

Nwabali was stretchered off during the last moments of the game after colliding with Georges-Kévin N’Koudou.

He was replaced by Francis Uzoho, who he displaced in the national team.

After the match, Peseiro told reporters: “We will assess the state of Nwabali’s injury in the next 24 to 48 hours.

“It’s difficult to assess his condition while we were in the match. But I am hoping that he will be fit for the next match.

“I want him to play. And the players want him to play.”
