Two Policemen Killed, Vehicles Burnt As Gunmen Attack Anambra Zonal Police Command
LAGOS APRIL 19TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Two Police officers were feared killed while half a dozen police vehicles were burnt, as hoodlums attacked Zone 13 Command, Ukpo, Anambra State.
Although the police is yet to issue a statement on the attack, Daily Independent learnt that two Policemen, an inspector and a police corporal lost (names withheld) lost their lives.
It was learnt that the zonal Command which is barely one year old came under attack at 4am Monday morning.
It was also learnt that soon after the hoodlums began the attack the police in the state mobilised to defend the zone.
A report sighted by Daily Independent read: ” Zone 13 headquarters Awka was attacked this morning by 0400hrs , men posted to CP quarters including CP himself was drafted to the scene immediately.
“When we reached there , unfortunately two of our 54 personnel lost their life. Namely:- INSP. Ishaku Aura and PC. Uzoma Uwaebuka. May their souls rest in peace, meanwhile all men posted to any beat should be at extra red alert”.
Several vehicles parked kn the premises of the Command burnt completely while part of the buildings were also burnt#
