LAGOS SEPTEMBER 2ND (NEWSRANGERS)-A shocking video has taken over social media, featuring a Lagos agbero who claims he scammed Winners Chapel, led by Bishop David Oyedepo, out of nearly $1 million through sophisticated cyber fraud.
In the viral clip, the man describes himself as a “full-stack unicorn developer” since 2000, boasting that he has been running Yahoo scams since 2002. He explained in detail how he builds fake websites—replicas of Gmail or banking portals—designed to harvest login details from unsuspecting users.
“It’s just a program… I build the site, then anything you enter redirects to me,” he bragged.
According to him, his phishing schemes involved deceptive emails urging users to “validate their accounts,” which gave him direct access to sensitive data, including financial information.
He openly admitted that one of his biggest hits was against Winners Chapel, where he reportedly made off with nearly $1 million.
An additional report by TrendingEx alleged that the hacker’s syndicate has used the same tactics to target over 30 institutions, sparking renewed debate over Nigeria’s growing cybercrime epidemic.
The revelations have triggered outrage online, with many Nigerians questioning how such an attack could breach a church of Winners Chapel’s stature. Cybersecurity experts warn that the case underscores the urgent need for stronger security protocols, especially among high-profile organizations.
So far, Winners Chapel has not issued an official response, but the viral video has intensified calls for urgent action to clamp down on advanced fraud schemes operating within Nigeria.
