Rivers State Residents Boos Participants Of  Pro-Tinubu Government Rally

LAGOS AUGUST 15TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Youths believed to have been sponsored to hold a pro-government rally in support of President Bola Tinubu’s administration were met with fierce resistance in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Tuesday.

A viral video shows the rally being booed by locals, who rejected the youths’ attempts to drum up support for the government. The hostile reception was a stark contrast to the expected show of solidarity.

The pro-Tinubu rally, aimed at demonstrating support for the government, backfired spectacularly, devolving into a public relations debacle.

The youths involved faced widespread mockery and disapproval from the community, leaving the event in tatters.

This embarrassment comes on the heels of the 10-day nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests just three days prior, where thousands of Nigerians demanded a reversal of the economic policies implemented by the Tinubu administration.

Notably, the ill-fated rally was led by Tony Okocha, the former chairman of the All Progressives Congress Caretaker Committee in Rivers State, who was recently sacked from his position.

The Coalition of Renewed Hope Family in Rivers State organised the rally in Port Harcourt, led by Okocha. The procession began at the Polo Club in GRA and wound its way through various routes, including Aba Road, Isaac Boro Park, Bank Road, and Moscow Road, before culminating back at the Port Harcourt Polo Club.

Along the way, participants displayed placards with pro-Tinubu messages.

The march caused minor traffic disruptions, with vehicles taking alternative routes to navigate around the procession.

Okocha addressed the gathering at the final destination, the Port Harcourt Polo Club.
