Tweeter Users Knocks Buhari’s Ex-Aide For Attacking Davido, Signee Over Music Video
LAGOS JULY 23RD (NEWSRANGERS)-Twitter users and fans of Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, have attacked Bashir Ahmad, former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, for attacking Davido over his signee, Logos Olori’s latest video music, ‘Jaye Lo’ in which he used some Muslims offering prayers.
Posting a short clip of the music video on his Twitter handle, Davido on Friday posted “Allow me to re-introduce, @logosolori with his new single “Jaye Lo”… Lets Run It Up one time! Let’s take over the world.”
Reacting to Davido’s tweet, Ahmad, a Muslim said the video music is absolutely disrespectful, hurtful and offensive to Islam and Muslims.
He wrote, “There are many reasons why every Muslim finds this content absolutely disrespectful, hurtful and offensive @davido.
“I assume you all know that we Muslims don’t mix our religion with jokes in any way, especially Salah (prayer), which is sacred and the second of the five pillars of Islam.
“In Salah, Muslims remember our Lord, Allah, express our love and respect for Him and invoke and strive to express our gratitude towards Him.
“The notion is that the Salah activity brings the individual face-to-face with God. That is what we believe, and that is our faith. Please respect it.
“No Muslim will find it as an honor or acceptable.”
But unhappy with his criticism, tweeps unleashed attacks on Ahmad with some telling him that he secretly secured a job in the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) while he was still serving as former President Buhari’s aide, hence, he lacks the moral right to criticise Davido and his signee.
A Twitter user identified himself as David Hundeyin PA, @iamdlaw2 wrote, “Bashir Ahmad you secretly took up employment with NNPC while still an SA to Buhari. Did Allah not frown against corruption?
“Bashir Ahmad, does Allah not frown at Nepotism, ethnic hatred and jingoism?
“You stupid fool lack the moral right to complain about Davido signee music video.”
Another Twitter user, @strong_truth said, “Embezzling, looting and Stuffing dollars of public funds in Babariga is not offensive to Muslims, it is the music that is offensive, you all are bunch of hypocrites.”
Also, @urchilla01 wrote, “St fu. Does your religion accept you earning illicit money from government after resigning your position? Does your religion accept the wanton looting of the party that you support so loyally? Selective piety. Gt foh.”
Writing in Pidgin English, @shakaraceo1 said, “E don reach religion you don get hard on
But you follow those people
Mess everywhere up. Dey play.”
Another Twitter user, @EzechiEmeka wrote, “This is offensive but the rigging and the looting is not offensive to you? Onye Oshi!” While @Adebayocole1 told Ahmad that “Am a practicing Muslim also ,I see nothing wrong with this video brother.
“The artist is a Muslim also and he’s expressing himself while praising the almighty that he has made it in life.”
@EngeeNeerKings said, “There is never any happiness with you extremist. Quick to condemn another when you are worse than the rest.”
Also attacking Ahmad, @Nackson147 said, “The kind of energy that some of us use in condemning a video just because it has to do with religion is amazing, However, NIG would have been a better place to live if all of us are using the same energy to condemn corruption, election rigging and bad governance in Nigeria today.”
Moshood Abiodun @Moshood13166991 told Ahmad, “Go to court Bashir,” while Daddy Harry @DHOT23403 wrote, “He reach hardship the werey no talk, he is here fighting for his religion. Let your Allah to fight abeg.”
David Chia @DavidChia20 said, “There is hardship in the land created by those that are practicing that religion. Talk about that and leave @davido alone please.”
