Villarreal Slam Record Fee On Chukwueze As Chelsea,Liverpool, Man U Show Interest
LAGOS FEBRUARY 12TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are all considering a swoop for the Nigeria international and Villarreal sensation Samuel Chukwueze at the end of the season.
The 20-year-old has drawn admiring glances since making his senior debut in September 2018, chipping in with 12 goals and seven assists in 64 appearances for Villarreal.
The Yellow Submarine are reluctant to lose their most prized asset and have slapped a big price tag on his head in an effort to scare off suitors.
According to the Daily Mail, Chukwueze has been valued by the Spanish club at £60m, which would represent their record sale by some margin if they were to achieve said fee.
Reports in France suggested Liverpool have already had a £30 million offer knocked back.
Jurgen Klopp would be attracted to Chukwueze because of the left-footed forward’s ability to cut in from the right.
Chukwueze grew up hero-worshipping former Chelsea winger Arjen Robben, who he shares similar attributes with.
Liverpool are likely to need attacking reinforcements in the summer, despite boasting the most fearsome attacking trio in world football. Klopp will need cover because Xherdan Shaqiri is likely to leave at the end of the campaign in search of regular minutes.
Chelsea could need additional firepower out on the wings because of concerns over Willian and Pedro’s future.
While City boss Pep Guardiola is likely to rebuild his squad after a disappointing Premier League title defence. He could also lose Leroy Sane amid interest from Bayern Munich.
