Save Us From Hoodlums’ Attacks, Ajegunle Residents Cry Out To Lagos Govt

LAGOS NOVEMBER 2ND (NEWSRANGERS)-Residents of Ajegunle in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Areas of Lagos State have urged government  to save them from incessant attacks by suspected hoodlums.

It was gathered that many properties have been destroyed in the wake of the attacks.

‘’Many houses have been abandoned because as a result of the effect of fighting in my area. Life is usually hellish here whenever they are fighting because the fighting is a very serious one to the extent that we would not be able to go out of our homes.

‘’We are all begging the state authorities to please to help us life has been so horrible  and challenging  for us because the hoodlums have destroyed many properties and we are really scared here. Late last year was a very bad experience for me; I was sleeping when the boys started fighting and they threw fireballs into my compound and everything got burnt,’’a resident of Market Street, Joy Adonu said.

A food vendor on Opaleye Street, identified Iya Nifemi recalled how the hoodlums disrupted her business recently, saying: ‘’One day, I was cooking  rice in my frontage around 5am when the boys started fighting. Before I knew it, they three away my rice and my soup and poured petrol in other food items.’’

A commercial motorcyclist in Coker,  Emmanuel Okafor told The Nation that the hoodlums snatched his motorbike, money and phone after beating him up, adding that’’I have nothing to tell the owner of the motorbike and since that day my life  has become  miserable .’’

Rilwan Bayo who lives in Safejo said he was returning home from work when he was robbed by the hoodlums.

‘’I was returning from my office when I ran into the boys who were fighting. They beat me up and collected my phone. I thanked God that I was not killed because the same hoodlums had killed one of my brothers who was returning from school.’’
