Police Protect Wanted Melaye In And Out Of National Assembly
LAGOS MARCH 28TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Despite the fact that he was declared wanted by the police on Wednesday, the representative of Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Dino Melaye, was escorted by policemen in and out of the National Assembly complex.
The now removed Commissioner of the Kogi State Police Command, Ali Janga, had in a statement declared Melaye and two others wanted in connection with a gun running allegation.
The two suspects, Kabiru Seidu, popularly known as Osama, and Nuhu Salisu, aka Small, had accused Melaye of having provided them with guns and cash to unleash violence on Kogi State before, during and after the 2019 elections.
However, they were said to have disappeared from their cell in Lokoja, Kogi State on Wednesday.
Janga said in the statement that not only had the local police in Nigeria been directed to arrest Melaye, Seidu and Salisu, the case has also been reported to INTERPOL so they could be arrested anywhere they are seen.
However, as this drama was going on, Melaye was moving round the National Assembly with policemen protecting him.
